Thank You 2012! Welcome 2013! Happy New Year!

New Year's is a great time of year. It's a time to look back and reminisce, reflect, and evaluate the year that has past, as we look forward to the coming year. Aside from being incredibly thankful for my amazing, supportive, and fabulous family, this year, as a fairly new small business owner, reflection seems more important than ever. Each day I wonder, how am I doing? Am I growing, changing, and improving the way that I need to be to help my business succeed? This month marks the 1 year anniversary of my exodus from a successful, yet frustrating teaching career, and foray into entrepreneurship. The decision to leave teaching was a hard and sad one, but the prospect of owning my own business and fulfilling my dream of being creative each and every day an exciting one!

So, as I've been reflecting on the past year, and assessing my success, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do. I was talking to someone recently who told me "it's like you're living a dream", and that couldn't be more true. I love what I do, the people that I work with, the clients that I meet, and creating people's visions. And, as I pulled pictures for this post, I amazed myself with all that I've created this year. So I invite you to take a quick, visual journey with me, as I re-visit 2012... the way I like to experience things... Through pictures!!!!

As a welcome to the Pantone color of the year, all text is in Emerald!

Here's what Sparkle and Ink has been up to this year...
As I said before, it's been an amazing year. Our website it well on it's way to completion over at, more wedding expos are already on the 2013 calendar, and lots of new partnerships have been formed. It has been a successful year.

Also in 2012, was the passing of my grandfather, one of the most influential people in my life, a true visionary, and one of the most amazing entrepreneurs that I have ever known. This post, would be incomplete without recognizing him, the inspiration that he represented, and his part in encouraging me to do what I love. I could never in a million years explain to him the confidence that he helped me to develop, to follow my passion, and he did that by example, through following his. Thanks Papa!

I can only hope that Sparkle and Ink continues to grow in 2013 and that next year I will be sitting here writing another recap, to update my awesome readers on another exciting year. I am thankful for everything in the past year, and none of this would be possible without my amazing family, friends, clients and followers/likers/readers.

What are you thankful for in the past year? What are you celebrating this New Year's? Please share with us in the comments below!

Sparkle On in 2013!
