'Tis the Season to Sparkle!

Star Urchin Paper Design by Etsy seller: Kissa Design
Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, and the Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday Sales are in full swing, the stores, and our minds will be shifting toward the December Holidays and New Year's. Whether you enjoy this season, or loathe this season, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or just New Year's, December brings many things... shopping, decorating, wrapping, and best of all SPARKLES!!! That's correct, December and January, as we move through the holidays, and on to New Year's is a time of Sparkle.

If you think about the stores, the candles, the wrappings, the bows, silver and gold accents, outfits and attitudes, the holidays mean sparkle. For all of these reasons, and because I'll use any reason to find sparkly things, throughout December, I will be highlighting sparkly table decor, sparkly gift wrapping ideas, sparkly holiday clothing and sparkly people. Because there's nothing that I love to do more than to share sparkle!

In addition to sharing ways to physically make your holidays sparkle, I'll also be posting about ways to stay stress free, happy, and cheery, or at least maintain that general appearance throughout the holidays, which believe me, I know can feel anything but sparkly at times. So, kick back, sign up with your email address (top left box) and continue reading my tips for feeling sparkly, decorating sparkly, and wearing sparkles all throughout the holiday season.

Now that we are ready, and you know where I am heading, as a kick off to this awesome time of year, when it is perfectly acceptable to wear loads of sparkle, even if you are a grown adult. I found these great pieces!

I was perusing the White House Black Market Holiday flyer, and what grabbed my attention? This page of sparkly accessories! (on left) Look at those lovely sparkly shoes! This is the gold version, there is also a black and silver version! What a fabulous way to add some sparkle to any holiday outfit.

Now, I know that maybe not everyone wants to spend $88 on a pair of shoes, even if you can wear them to dress up just about every holiday outfit, for every holiday occasion...
So... The little Payless circular came and look at what I found there! Yes... very similar (on right), if you can handle the platform...

Either option perfect to add to your holiday wardrobe...

As you well know, I love sparkle! However, I also love a classy look. So, when I came across the following dress from ModCloth, who I love, I was filled with mixed emotions. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this dress. I think that accessorized correctly, sans any more sparkle! This dress could possibly be pulled off. I myself couldn't do it. That's right, I said it. There is such thing as too much sparkle for me. But I'm sure that some of you could. So, I share this dress with you with the caveat that I beg you... please, do NOT add any more sparkles to your outfit should you choose to don this glittery garb! Here it is...

So, what do you think? Too much sparkle, or perfect for a night out, holiday party or other occasion? Let us know in the comments section... Would you wear it? Would you recommend it to others? And, if so, where would you wear it and how would you accessorize?

Sparkle on through the holidays!

  1. To a club on New years...yes. To a friends house party, no.

  2. I love the Payless shoes! I would wear the dress to a Black Tie party, but you're right no more sparkle allowed with it. Just checked out Mod Cloth for the first time - very nice site -thanks for the great find! Look forward to more sparkly ideas from you!
